More Jerseymen Wounded. The latest list of Jerseymen belonging to the Royal Irish Rifles who have been wounded and admitted to hospital include the names of Rifleman Weeks and Rifleman Roberts.


NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Tuesday 18 December 1917

Roll of Honour. News was received this morning by Mrs Weeks of Havre des Pas that her son, Corporal Archibald Weeks of the Royal Irish Rifles, who was 22, has died in one of the Casualty Clearing Stations in France as the result of wounds received during the fighting on 10 December. The deceased joined up with the Jersey Contingent and some 12 months ago married a lady in Ireland. When in Jersey he was employed as a meat salesman by the firm of Humphreys of the Central Market.
