NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 28 October 1918

Roll of Honour. Mrs Whitley of Ebenezer Cottage, St Martins has received the sad news of the death on 11 October in France from wounds received in action of her younger son, Private Stanley Whitley of the New Zealand Forces. The deceased, who left Jersey for New Zealand 5 years ago, joined up some time after the outbreak of war and on arriving in England crossed over to Jersey to pay a short visit to his relatives. We tender our sincere condolences to the mother and other members of the family.
