NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 28 February 1917

Roll of Honour. It is with deep regret that we chronicle the death which took place in action in Mesopotamia on 9 February last of Corporal F C Wilson of 2nd Battalion Kings Own Regiment. The deceased gallant soldier married a Jersey lady, Miss Louisa Tyrell, who resides at First Tower and he being a reservist promptly joined up at the outbreak of hostilities. He served in France, and being severely frost bitten returned here on sick leave and about 12 months ago was ordered to the Eastern scene of warfare, where, as stated above, he was killed early in the month. The late Corporal was 26 and was very popular and highly respected locally. To the widow, who is left with two children, we tender our sincere condolences.
