Lance Corporal Edward Mauger of the 11th Hussars, born August 1892 killed by a sniper at Soupir, Battle of the Aisne, Sept. 1914.

Edward Mauger was employed by Guernsey Telephone Co. before he joined the Hussars. He was a top marksman and won many competitions. He was a Maxim machine gunner in the battle, killed by an enemy fellow marksman.

Listed as "Le Mauger" in Guernsey Press. Son of the late Henry Pierre Mauger of Guernsey and Mary Jane Mauger, subsequently of 28, Liddon Rd., Plaistow, London. Resident at the Bouet, St Peter Port.

Killed in action, aged 22 years

Brother of Walter Mauger & Gunner Francis Mauger
