Walter Frederick Ward Mauger's final resting place
in a common grave.
Son of the late Henry Pierre Mauger of
Guernsey and Mary Jane Mauger, subsequently of 28, Liddon
Rd., Plaistow, London. Born at Guernsey. Brother of
Edward
Mauger.
Killed, along with at least 68 others, in a TNT explosion
at the Brunner Mond company factory at Silvertown, East
London, aged 27 years.
The memorial nestles under the Docklands
Light Railway in Silvertown, the West face of the memorial
is dedicated to the Brunner Mond Company employees who
lost their lives on 19th January 1917.
