Son of Richard Stephen & Mary Carter. Born at St Helier, Jersey.
Husband of Clara Georgina Carter (nee de Caen) of 38 Ann Street, St Helier, Jersey.
His son, Private Alfred Henry Carter, was also killed

Died, aged 50 years.

Roll of Honour. We regret to learn that Mrs Carter of 4 Prospect Cottages, Haimance Place, Ann Street has received official intimation that her husband, Pioneer Sergeant A Carter of the Lincolnshire Regiment, has died in India of paralysis. The deceased Sergeant, who was some 50 years of age, joined the South Staffordshire Regiment when they were stationed here and was afterwards transferred to the Lincolns. He was well known and highly respected locally and much sympathy will be felt for the widow who is left with two sons and a daughter. This is the second bereavement the family have sustained during the war as a son, who was serving in the Dorset Regiment, was accidentally killed at Wyke Regis some time ago,
