NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of
Wednesday 3 July 1918
Roll of Honour. We regret to learn that
Mrs Carter of 4 Prospect Cottages, Haimance Place, Ann
Street has received official intimation that her husband,
Pioneer Sergeant A Carter of the Lincolnshire Regiment,
has died in India of paralysis. The deceased Sergeant,
who was some 50 years of age, joined the South Staffordshire
Regiment when they were stationed here and was afterwards
transferred to the Lincolns. He was well known and highly
respected locally and much sympathy will be felt for
the widow who is left with two sons and a daughter.
This is the second bereavement the family have sustained
during the war as a son, who was serving in the Dorset
Regiment, was accidentally killed at Wyke Regis some
time ago,
