NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 17 August 1917

Roll of Honour. We regret to chronicle the death which took place at the 22nd General Hospital through gas poisoning of Gunner Charles Henry Pettifer of the Royal Horse Artillery. This soldier was the youngest son of the late Mr H Pettifer and Mrs Pettifer, formerly of this Island. We tender the family our sincere sympathy in their bereavement.

Youngest son of Henry and Clara Pettifer, of 4, Elm Park, Brixton Hill, London. Native of Jersey. One of two brothers who both fell.

Brother of Henry Ernest Pettifer.

Died at 22nd General Hospital through gas poisoning, aged 22 years.
